The Youth Russian Ballet Company is bringing their enchanting production of “The Sleeping Beauty” to Joburg this weekend.
The production features the organisation’s dancers, rising stars Karmia Postma and Elena Leonteva, who will alternate in the role of Princess Aurora.
Meanwhile, guest artist Gabriel Fernandes, a soloist with the South African Ballet Theatre, will be joining the cast as the Prince.
Together, these young talents and guest artists will showcase breathtaking choreography to create an unforgettable performance.

The Good White
This powerful new play by the renowned local playwright Mike van Graan tackles pertinent South African issues.
It takes theatregoers back to 2016 when Jacob Zuma is in power, corruption is rife and the rising #FeesMustFall movement is demanding change.
Directed by Greg Homann, it features four individuals, played by Russel Savadier, Renate Stuurman, Vusi Kunene and Shonisani Masutha, who are forced to confront their beliefs, their identities and the choices that define them.
Where: The Barney Simon theatre at the Market Theatre.

The Last Country
This immersive production features a powerhouse cast of some of South Africa’s top talents drawn from KwaZulu-Natal, Johannesburg and Cape Town.
They include award-winning actors such as Mpume Mthombeni, Faniswa Yisa, Sibulele Gcilitshana and Andile Vilikazi.
Directed by Neil Coppen, the play also features text drawn from the 30 oral histories of migrant women collected as part of a greater research and advocacy project.
“The Last Country” subtly weaves together the stories of Ofrah from the DRC, MaThwala from Ndwedwe in KwaZulu-Natal, Aamiina from Somalia, and Aneni from Zimbabwe.
