Schoolmates stab 16-year-old - police

A 16-year-old boy was stabbed by four fellow school pupils in Vanderbijlpark on Monday afternoon, police said.

Inspector Kinnin Steyn said the boy was waiting for his parents at the parking lot of a food store when a 15-year-old school friend called him over.

When he went over the friend took out a knife and stabbed him in his upper chest before three other boys appeared and stabbed him in the back.

The boy's parents arrived on scene and found him injured. They rushed him to a nearby doctor for treatment and stitches.

The four other boys have not yet been arrested, but Steyn said police would be moving in on them soon. - Sapa
